Water Damage in Indianapolis, IN
The water from a broken supply line was two inches deep in this room and completely saturated the carpet, pad and baseboards on the walls. After we removed all of the standing water we needed to cut away the wet drywall and remove the wet insulation. The water soaks through and under the walls wicking up into the insulation. Next, we set air movers and a dehumidifier to properly dry the structure. As you can see in this photo, we aim the fans in such a way to create a vortex of spinning air in the room. This technique promotes drying and removes moisture from the surfaces into the air so the dehumidifier can then pull the moisture out of the air. The next photo shows a moisture detection tool being used to evaluate the drying process. Once the structure is properly dried we installed new insulation and rebuild the walls. Lastly, we replace the trim and install the flooring. If you need water cleanup and restoration please call SERVPRO of Indianapolis West. (317) 243-3149.
